Get the Most Out of Your Read Aloud
These products are the solution for any teacher who is looking to turn Back to School Read Alouds into an opportunity for explicit instruction in reading, writing, enrichment, and more. Each unit is full of discussion prompts and activities that seamlessly differentiate for students of all ages (K-5) and levels, with convenient color-coding to distinguish lower-level and higher level lessons and activities. Every unit includes material for multiple reading comprehension skills and strategies, the seven traits of writing, and engaging, cross-curricular extension activities for learners who are ready to take their knowledge to the next level.
Can You Relate?
One of my favorite things to do as a teacher is read quality picture books to my students as we explore and discuss the topic, characters, and/or plots. Yet, most weeks I feel so much pressure to get in the required curriculum that the read aloud is rushed or doesn’t happen at all. I searched for resources to give my read alouds a little more substance so I could replace normal curriculum components with activities that tied to a read aloud I chose and wanted to share with my students. But I found that many were tied to a specific program or included activities that weren’t a good match for my learners. I needed something simple, inclusive, adaptable, and ready to go in order to fully round out the read aloud experience for my students—thus Rounding Out the Read Aloud was born.
Save Time with Minimal Prep
This unit was created by teachers who understand the importance of precious plan time and the need for something easy to implement. All activities are minimal prep … just print and go! Lesson plans are written for you, and detailed instructions for implementation are included. Simply grab your copy of the book, select which activities you want to do with your students, print, and go! If you are a teacher who treasures read aloud time with students and are looking for the right tool to round out the experience so it supports your planned curriculum, this product will be a game changer for you.
