I can’t believe the start of the school year is just around the corner! With each start of the school year, my main goals were to build our classroom community, establish routines and expectations, and have some fun. However, those first couple of weeks are EXHAUSTING! I heavily relied on back to school read alouds to accomplish my goals and keep students engaged.
I kicked off Rounding Out the Read Aloud with my tried and true back to school books. Hopefully, these ready-to-go lesson plans and activities will ease you and your class into the start of the school year. There are customizable lesson plans, writing booklets with a prompt and rubric, and extension activities. All you need to do is print and go! Every unit includes material for multiple reading comprehension skills and strategies, the seven traits of writing, and engaging, cross-curricular extension activities for learners who are ready to take their knowledge to the next level.
