I was searching for activities for my students to do with their upcoming lesson on multiplication and division properties. The way our curriculum lays it out, students learn commutative, identity, zero property and division rules (ones and zeros) together, then they learn associative on a different day. I assume this is because associative can be tricky, so they want the kids to have a chance to solidify their understanding of the others first. Also, division rules (ones and zeros) and identity and zero properties of multiplication all work similarly, so it makes sense to teach them together.
I had trouble finding game-style activities for my students that didn’t include ALL the properties together, so I found a freebie blank gameboard on TPT (it’s an editable PDF) and typed in my own rules and activities. Click HERE or below to access the game. It’s not glamorous, and I can assure you there are probably typos throughout. But kids will get the general idea. To download the original gameboard and make your own game, I urge you to check out the Primarily First TPT shop.
